Review of Social Aspects of New Media Technologies 11:43 AM

There are many really interesting points in the article. I'm something interested in the field of sociology so there are many good views for me. The three theories analyze the human behaviors when they facing the new media or new things, and describe the reaction of people's thinking. When we want to promote some new technologies, we should lay stress on the view from a man but not just think about the technology itself. I forget that a society consist of many individuals. They have their demands, so a technology could be developed. This point match the model of social sphere in the book "Media Technology and Society."

Let's see if these could apply to my favorite interest, animation. Not the beginning of the animation, I want to know how people think when the new animations come up. First, the audiences who like to watch animations will find out the information themselves, and they could choose the kind of the genre they prefer so that we can know what could be accepted in the region. Then we can do some research on the market and promote the new ideas of animation slowly. Make them be familiar with animations and have the desire to know more about them. Through the process of knowledge, persuasion, decision, and confirmation, let us realize the preference of the mass and the market of the place, then we can understand how to make this industry better. These three theories are closely relative.

I think these theories can be used in many fields, not just in the media technologies. Like the Diffusion of Innovation Theory, it's very similar to the product life cycle in the economics which have four periods of introduction, growth, maturity, and decline, too. So I think these theories are general principles of marketing or human behaviors, and they could be very useful.
