What is organization? What makes we think some thing is organized or not? The most basic definition is: put the same things together. What is the benefit of putting them together? If they are in the same place, we can find them easily when we need them. And also, to put together means to be a group, so we can seperate different things from each groups. When we can know where items should be and search them easily, we call they are organized, just like where we put our clothes and dishes.
The organization is not only a clear catagories. When the amount of some items is very big but they are the same ones, we need to have it in some order, like alphabets, time, numbers, etc. If we are composing an article or a story, the organization is more important because that is the way to make readers in moods.
Depending on everyone's experience, what one thinks organization is different. But according to the cognitive psychology, everyone will pay attention on the formation of the words but the words themseleves. After all, the words are just the forming of characters. So before we realize what they mean, we will see the construction first, and then read the same things together, then we can know what the messages want to show. Thus, not only the use of the graphic, it is important to have a good constuction of texts to make a site more organized, and the graphic can help the users be familier to what it shows and more stylish. That's why we cannot abandon the graphic design, because it is powerful and helpful for reading and searching.
Also, it is important to match the words and icons. It is more difficult to make people to have connection of the two, but that is the most interesting part, too.
